Child Safety Standards

Last updated: October 2026

Protecting children is non-negotiable. This page sets out our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and how to report a concern.

Report a safety concern

1. Adults only

Wobochat is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. Anyone under 18 is not allowed to create an account or use the service in any way.

We ask for a date of birth at sign-up, review reports of suspected minors as a priority, and permanently remove any account we believe belongs to someone under 18.

2. Zero tolerance for CSAE

We prohibit child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form, including:

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) sharing, requesting, or linking to it • Grooming, or any attempt to contact or meet a minor for sexual purposes • Sexualising minors in photos, messages, profiles or comments • Sextortion, trafficking or any exploitation of children

Violations lead to immediate, permanent removal of the account.

3. How we enforce it

• Profile photos and reported content are reviewed by our moderation team • Accounts and content linked to CSAE are removed and blocked from returning • Evidence is preserved as required by law • Confirmed CSAM is reported to the relevant authorities and child-protection organisations, including law enforcement in Kenya and internationally recognised hotlines

4. Report a concern

If you see anything that may involve a child a suspected minor, sexual content involving a minor, or someone trying to reach a child please report it right away:

• In the app: use Report on the person’s profile or in the chat • Online: use our feedback form and choose "Safety concern" • Email: [email protected]

Reports are confidential. If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. In Kenya you can also call Childline Kenya on 116 (toll-free, 24/7).

5. Compliance

Wobochat complies with applicable child-safety laws, including Kenya’s Children Act and Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act, and cooperates fully with law enforcement investigations.

These standards apply to the Wobochat website and mobile apps.

6. Contact

Our designated child-safety contact can be reached at [email protected]. We review and respond to child-safety reports as a priority.
